Jimmy Kimmel mocks Marjorie Taylor Greene for reporting his slap joke to Capitol Police

Jimmy Kimmel hit back at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on social media after she claimed she reported one of his jokes to Capitol Police. Greene takes issue with a joke Kimmel made on the April 5 episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” In his monologue, Kimmel evoked Will Smith joking about wishing someone slapped Greene over her idea of a Supreme Court confirmation hearing for Ketanji Brown Jackson.

“This lady, mom Klan, is particularly upset with three Republican senators who said they would vote for Ketanji Brown Jackson, who was nominated to the Supreme Court,” Kimmel said, referring to Greene. “She tweeted, ‘Murkowski and Collins and Romney are all pedophiles. They just voted for KBJ. Wow where is Will Smith when you really need him ?”

Green called Kimmel’s joke a “threat of violence against me” in a Twitter post. The Georgia Republican told ABC she had filed a report with Capitol Police about the joke. Kimmel responded by mocking Greene, writing: “Officer? I want to report a joke.”

Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing prompted several Hollywood figures to denounce Republicans’ views on the matter. Ron Perlman went viral in late March when he called Ted Cruz’s questioning of Brown a “big assassin.” Cruz asked Jackson about her role as a board member of the Georgetown Day School, which teaches books such as Ibram X. Kendi’s “Anti-Racist Babies.” Cruz used the book to ask Jackson if she believed “babies are racist.”

“Hi Ted, Ron,” Perlman said in the video responding to Cruz. “Listen, I know how tempting it is to attract the really lowest human, lowest feeder in America…but Jesus Christ Ted, for a very, very small dick, you’re going to be A bigger asshole fucking every day. Fuck yourself.”
